Rivalries

Just like in pro-wrestling, rivalries and feuds are the main source of heat for matches. Though regular matches can already be a good way to add domination, humiliation and competition to the narrative, a rivalry between characters will always make the match feel more intense, while keeping the kayfabe alive.

In The SWS, just like in the real thing, feuds and rivalries between characters are not entirely real, but only a part of the show's in-gimmick diegesis. However, when a rivalry does become real between wrestlers, it's mostly attributed to their competitive spirit and only a few times to their personal affairs.
